Zoo Camp
June, 2010

>> Area Youth Go Wild for Zoo Camp

Zoo Camp is divided into two groups:  Preschool children ages 3 to 5 in a half day session (9 am to 12 pm must be fully potty trained to participate) and elementary school age children, ages 5 to 11, in a full day session (9 am to 3:00 pm) conducted by licensed teachers and trained volunteers.  Children in both age groups will explore animal life at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, meet our animal care-takers, and even greet some of our animal residents personally.  They will also participate in age-specific games, arts and crafts projects and special zoo-related events.  There will be plenty of hands-on educational and fun activities carried out in a safe and educational environment. >> more

Annual Boo at the Zoo
October, 2010

Gather the little ghosts and goblins for an evening of family fun during Boo at the Zoo at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.

Boo at the Zoo is always a popular event for our local children and parents, who continue to support our operation during the shoulder season,” said Patti Hall, zoo director. “Parents particularly enjoy our carnival atmosphere because it is geared towards younger children and is a safe environment for everyone.”

Businesses may become an event sponsor by selecting one of three levels. Also, there are several volunteer opportunities. For more information regarding either opportunity, contact the John or Judy Kaiser at 251-968-7301 or email jjkaiser@mchsi.com.
