Welcome to the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, Home of Animal Planet's The Little Zoo That Could

Zoo Camp - June 24-28, 2013

Another successfull Zoo Camp is in the books! Thanks to all the families, teachers, and counselors that participated this year to make it such a success! We'll post dates and registration information for next year's camp session when we have all the details!

What is Zoo Camp?

Zoo Camp offered to all elementary school age children, ages 5 to 11, in a full day session (9am to 3pm) conducted by licensed teachers and trained volunteers.  Campers will explore animal life here at the Zoo, partake in animal enrichment activities, meet our zoo keepers, and even greet some of our animal residents personally.  They will also participate in age-specific games, arts and crafts projects and special zoo-related events.  There will be plenty of hands-on educational and fun activities carried out in a safe and educational environment.

“The goal of zoo camp is to give these children the opportunity for an enriching hands-on experience that will help them develop a deeper understanding and respect for animals,” -- Patti Hall, zoo director.

Zoo Camp is $175 per camper for a full week of zoo fun! Zoo Camp is Monday - Friday from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Applications will not be taken over the phone; registration forms and payment must be mailed in or delivered in person to the zoo.

CounselorsAssisting the our dedicated team of teachers is both fun and rewarding! If you have a teenager who is interested in being a counselor for this year's zoo camp session, and earn service hours for various clubs/scholarships, please contact us to see how they can be a part of this amazing experience!
