Tropical Storm Lee Flooding Brings WKRG News to the Zoo
Thanks to WKRG for checking out our conditions today!
The low lying area around Chi Chi & Al's enclosure has been a challenge during this storm and requires regular pumping to ensure water doesn't continue to rise in their home. They don't seem to mind a bit, but the handlers are watching round the clock to ensure their safety and happiness!

It's Official!

Our Earth Day Announcement!
In honor of Earth Day, April 22, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo officially announced that we are embarking on an exciting new journey – to become the “world’s first environmentally sustainable zoo built from the ground up!”
We may have all kinds of footprints here, but none of them will be of the “carbon” kind when we move to our brand new Green facility!
